Late Mr. M. C. Tom was the Chairman and Managing Director of the company. A very respected person in the shipping industry in India and overseas with over 3 decades experience in the industry. He was called the "MAN" who could challenge the impossible. He held senior positions in reputed organizations in India and Dubai.

Utilizing all the valuable experience gained over the past years in shipping, he started MCEES Logistics Pvt. Ltd., headquartered in Bangalore and with branches in Chennai, Tuticorin and Cochin. Mr. Tom was instrumental in setting up the shipping office of Choice Group in the port of Tuticorin in the year 1984. Here he has many firsts to his credit. He orchestrated calling of the first container ship into Tuticorin and started operating a bi-weekly service loading 25-50 containers per ship. Within a span of two years, he changed the shipping scenario at Tuticorin and started offering a weekly service with a dedicated vessel for the port. Exporters based in the hinterland of Tuticorin started diverting their cargo from Chennai and Cochin and from 100 containers a month Mr. Tom could enhance the volume to 400-500 containers in the year 1986. His biggest achievement was turning around a full ship with import and export loading and sailing in 24 hours thereby setting a record in the Tuticorin port, a record which still stands. For this remarkable achievement, the port of Tuticorin conferred on him the Best Performer Award.

He even met the local trucking firm that delivers the containers from dock on the island to the temple .
